The NCGE/AAG Excellence of Scholarship Award recognizes graduating seniors majoring in geography for outstanding academic achievement. The primary criterion for this award should be academic performance; secondary criteria such as Gamma Theta Upsilon membership, departmental service, dedication, enthusiasm, and participation can also be considered.
NCGE will publish the name of one outstanding student from a university/college in the June newsletter (Perspective).
Application Procedures:
1. The nominating faculty member must be a member of AAG or NCGE.
2. Send nominator information, mailing address of department/institution, and student information to awards@ncge.org by May 1, 2012 in order to ensure a signed certificate is mailed to the student's department prior to the end of the academic year.
3. Faculty may chose to honor more than one outstanding student, but NCGE will publish only one student name per institution.
Deadline: May 1, 2012
