2010 Higher Education Distinguished Teaching Award

The 2010 Higher Education Distinguished Teaching Award (DTA) is designed to recognize and support excellence in geography teaching among two-year college, college, and university educators.  NCGE proudly honors teachers who have displayed continued dedication to geography education.

Higher Education DTA recipients will receive recognition within the geographic education community, a plaque at the national conference, as well as complimentary registration to the National Conference on Geography Education in Savannah, Georgia September  29- October 3, 2010.

 To be eligible for this award, both the nominator and nominee must be NCGE members.  Applications are reviewed by a task force comprised of NCGE members and evaluated for teaching skills, leadership, professional development accomplishments, involvement in student activities, and development of innovative teaching materials and strategies. Documentation requirements

Complete nominee materials must be submitted no later than June 30, 2010.
