2010 NCGE & Nystrom Geography Award

 

The Nystrom/Herff Jones Education Division* will provide one $1500 cash award to a K-12 teacher (or group of teachers) for an exemplary classroom presentation. The awardee will also receive a one-year NCGE membership, waiver of the National Conference registration fee, and a plaque that will be presented at the National Conference on Geographic Education in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Formats for the presentation may include lessons, simulations, workshops, or other learning activities.

Applications must be postmarked by April 30, 2010. 

Winners of the Nystrom scholarship award are required to present their lessons at the National Conference on Geography Education in Savannah, Georgia, September 29-October 3, 2010 in order to receive the scholarship. These workshop sessions are scheduled to last 45 minutes. If your lesson is selected to receive the award, a session will be scheduled for you in the conference program.
