Articles are chosen from the 2009 volume of issues of the Journal of Geography. Awards are given for:
  • Best Content Article for Elementary;
  • Best Secondary Teaching Article;
  • Best College/University Article; and
  • Best Article for Geography Program Development
Please note that not all awards are given each year.
Solicitation for nominees will be published in the NCGE newsletter, Perspective, in the February 2009 issue. Nominations may be made by colleagues or may be self-nominations. The deadline for JoG award material submission is April 30, 2010.
The Journal of Geography Awards Task Force seeks articles that:
  • Encourage and support research in geographic education
  • Develop, publish, and promote the use of curriculum, resources, and learning materials.
  • Promote geographic education.
The Journal of Geography awardees will receive a plaque at the 2010 National Conference on Geography Education.

The awardees will be selected by the Task Force, but Task Force members welcome suggestions from NCGE members. Please forward your recommendations to the Task Force Chair:
