The NCGE College/University and K-12 Distinguished Teaching Achievement Awards recognize outstanding geography teaching in the colleges, universities, and schools of the United States and Canada, including U.S. Department of Defense schools abroad. NCGE invites nominations for the 2008 awards.

Each 2008 DTA recipient will receive a plaque at the 2008 National Conference on Geography Education, free registration at the meeting, and a one-year membership in the NCGE. NCGE will also announce the honor to institutions designated by the awardees.

Nominations or self-nominations for DTA awards are solicited from members and non-members of the NCGE and will be accepted at the Central Office through April 18, 2008. Please review the attached flyers and applications for submission requirements. Please note that the application procedures have been modified for 2008. There are five categories:
