The NCGE Professional Development Webinar Program is a live series that features a robust program of geography educators from around the world. The program offers an opportunity to learn new skills, interact with your geography educator colleagues and experience new tools and resources. It's the conference that lasts all year long! Join us on select Wednesdays throughout the school year at 8 PM ET.
Webinars are free for active NCGE members and $20 for non-members, unless otherwise stated.
Please be sure to register for webinar sessions well in advance. Our staff processes all registrations manually from the NCGE system into the GotoMeeting webinar system. After you register for the webinar, you will receive a confirmation e-mail. At least one day prior to the webinar, you will get a follow-up email with connection and viewing instructions. That message will come from Barbaree Duke <firstname.lastname@example.org>. This e-mail may go to your spam account initially, so please check there well in advance of the webinar (if you don't see it in your inbox). If you encounter problems, please email Barbaree Duke directly <email@example.com>, at least one hour prior to the webinar.

Prezi Presentations for the Classroom: Effective Design and Best Practice
Presenter: Michael Tornetto
Description: Looking for a great tool to make dynamic and logically organized presentations that effectively engages students? As a Social Science teacher of 10 years, I have found that students of all abilities have trouble relating to traditional presentations. Prezi engages students by breaking the linear mold of traditional presentations while also providing the functionality to incorporate images, audio, and video to drive home key concepts. Prezi can be easily shared and accessed online by students when convenient. Furthermore, Prezi provides educational professionals and students free access and significant cloud storage. This webinar will not only introduce you to Prezi, but will also walk you through the steps of creating an account, creating a Prezi, adding content, and organizing that content to best get across to students. If not yet intrigued, explore the following link from Prezi themselves to better grasp what Prezi has to offer in making your next presentation more engaging and instructionally effective.
